Mainly for P101

When the OP or a moderator feels the issue is resolved, or question is answered they can click a button and it closes the thread and adds " [SOLVED]" as the thread prefix. I think this would eliminate alot of bumps, and keep down the 6 trillion repeat answers in each thread.

Or the mods could just manually do it?
but that would take ages to do since wed need to scour each thread for a competent answer that can deem it solved

With the multiple replies theres more than likely to be a competent answer and it makes your forum look a little more attractive to a new guest rather than seeing 'closed' they see 'SOLVED' it looks a little better to guest just browsing the forum. And it also gives the OP the ability to mark the thread as solved so that when they feel they've received an appropriate answer they can 'close' the topic. So it could save mods time too.

it wouldnt save mods anytime
only create unnecessary work for us
wed have to wait for a competent answer to tag the solve
and then wed have to hope people read it and dont post in it
i think the archives working well for guests trying to find their answers
and i deem this thread [SOLVED]

Nick, pubery for boys is the most active forum in p101
at the end of each month the p101 priority team move all the threads over 2 months old to the archive to reduce bumps
so far its been successful in reducing them i reckon
and its 2 months so it gives ops a time to bump since they are allowed to in their own threads
but anyway, that movement of 2 month old thread consists of moving nearly 200 threads, while many started in that month may remain active for several months afterwards
that means there are nearly 1000 threads maybe still in puberty for boys that your suggesting the mods go through and decide when the op has received a competent answer
its just not practical

The suggestion wasnt you go through and do it to all of the old posts...

well it would be daft only doing it on a few threads and not doing it on others
wouldnt that be guessing as to which ones will be bumped or not
and of course we wouldnt since the old ones are in the unpostable archive

I apologize for even suggesting it. It just happens to be a feature i really like.
VT's my homesite, its where i started out, so I figured i'd share cool things i found. You guys are just harshly negative.
I understand not liking it, but you could simply state your opinion and leave it open for others to state their opinion. But your so set on your initial thought.

i apologise if you saw it as hostile but being a moderator, what your suggesting creates work for me and the rest of the staff which isunnecessary
so thats why im so negative to it

I understand that, and trust me, i see your point. This site is crazy busy. And is probably already enough of a task to moderate.
