God dammit. Good choices man. Retro 80's ftw, it's all I listen to. I don't give a shit about all of this new music. It's the one thing I can honestly say I'm close minded about. You even mentioned a few bands from the 70's. When I think a lot about the 80's I think about hidden gems.

Animotion
Cutting Crew
Mister Mr.
A-Ha
A flock of seagulls
Nu Shooz
Inxs
General Public
Wang Chung
Dead Or Alive
Freur
Simple Minds
Psychedelic furs

A lot of bands recognized by only a few songs and some don't even know. When I listen to 80's I sink into the music. I feel what the writer was feeling when they wrote it. I love the sound of the experimental instruments and sound. The originality at it's greatest.

80's ftw

How dare you leave out The Smiths!!! :D

Its good to know you listen to the 80s though, decent music!

Its not true that kids just listen to garbage music these days, although most of them do. I know quite a few people my age who listen to stuff from the 60s/70s/80s! Music which is actually meaningful especially compared to this R&B/hip hop with all the pornographic lyrics!!

Propaganda.
Talk Talk.
Jimmy Sommerville and The Communards.
Tears for Fears.

Music of the 80ies rules. Plain and simple.

I don't consider that music. To my ears it is sound. Music is with meaning and not how you have hoes and guns -_-

Agreed!!! And all you see in the videos is these guys who think they are more important than the sun dancing among hoes wearing nothing but dental floss. :D
Although, for a moment there Goose, I thought you were talking about The Smiths :D

Darkwoon, definatly agree with Tears For Fears being added to the list.

You put Asia on the list but not Yes? Asia is a neo-prog band and they aren't very good.

I love how your list doesn't consist of the only two good 80s bands. Iron Maiden and Dio. You could put Rush on there, but they're seventies. :O And Journey's good, too. :P

My second favorite band is modern. Their guitarists are amazing, and it's not screaming nonsense.

They were active in the 80's and so were Yes even though they both started earlier. What about Jethro Tull, they are fantastic.

What era's of Van Halen are you talking about?
Because some people liked Sammy Hagar more than David Lee Roth. But I liked Roth.
Gary Cherone was "meh".

They still were active during the 80's...It doesn't matter if they started during the 70's or 60's. They were still popular during the 80's.

I think Ozzy Osbourne's 80s stuff was epic. I've been listening to it a lot recently.
