View Full Version : Seeing things BEFORE happening...

I swear this isn't normal, at all. And I have been keeping it inside for a bit too long, and I just need it out!

Do you ever have like "preview" visions of events that happen, before they do happen? Like, for example.
You see yourself buying a dress, even though you haven't gone to the store yet....

So, basically, I get visions of people dying, BEFORE they even died, or got sick and then passed on.

Even people who I know of which whom are as healthy as can be---- either in their beds dead, or in the hospital on oxygen, whatever.

All of this results in me being extremely AFRAID to do normal activities, because I am scared something bad will happen. Like, I won't go into a store on my own, or walk the dog... etc.

I see a therapist, but I haven't spoken to her about this, because I don't feel like having to end up in some mental ward 0.o

What should I do? Should I tell her the real reason for my anxiety, or should I just sit there and shut up about it? The only person, besides you, who knows about this, is my Mom. She said that this also happens to her. Not the anxiety part, but the seeing events before they happen.

That is really weird. You should see talk to your therapist about this.

You should sit down and have a serious chat with your mom. As she experiences the same sort of things she might come up with a way to help you.

You should tell your therapist. As for not wanting to go to the mental hospital, its not that bad.

You and your mom should both go to your therapist and talk about this. The same thing happens to me, so I know how you feel. I'm here if you ever need/want to talk.

Interesting. I have had similar experiences, but not visions. Just passing thoughts of prediction. You shouldn't be afraid to talk to people about this, keeping it bottled up will only make it worse. Good luck.

Yeah, I see her next week.... I'm going to.

You should sit down and have a serious chat with your mom. As she experiences the same sort of things she might come up with a way to help you.

We did speak, but only briefly, because the whole thing was kind of creepy.

You should tell your therapist. As for not wanting to go to the mental hospital, its not that bad.

Yeah... will, no offense, but I really do NOT want to be locked up in some mental ward with people who can have more serious problems... it just isn't happening 0.o

Thanks :)

Actually, I haven't. Last movie I watched was My fake fiance. And that was three weeks ago.

It obviously seems to be getting to you so yeah, speak to your therapist about it. If you sit there quietly and say nothing, when you know the real reason for your anexity, your just wasting yours and your therapists time tbh. The only way you can be helped, is if people know what they are helping you for. They need to know. Good luck :)

Taking a totally different point of view, if you're having premonitions I don't see how this is bad.

If you went to a psych they'd probably think you're either making stuff up or are 100% bonkers.

There's also a huge chance it will stop on it's own, as you get older and are less in tune with the universe.

I would tell your therapist for sure. I've had "similar" experiences in the past & know how much that type of thing can bother a person. It really does help to have someone to talk to about it all, though. It may very well be something that passes with time. I haven't had an "experience" like that for a over a year now.

I wish you the very best of luck!

This has happened to me for quite a long time. (About 5 years, 15 now.)

Most of the time it's something minor such as somebody saying something at school and when It happens I'm just like woahh. haha

Your situation seems much worse than mine though.

Okay, to give everyone an update, I spoke with my therapist.
And she didn't think I was crazy. In fact, she said it could be because of two things:
1) My anxiety level has gotten the better of me
or
2) Some people happen to have "special powers."

I didn't know what was so special about seeing people die before they actually died.
So, I made an appointment with her coworker, who prescribes me medication sometimes, and yes, he's a Medical Doctor, and he might raise up my dose to a higher thing, just to calm things down.

Not so weird. I think that thinking about something alot is what makes it happen. So, you might have the cause and effect backward. Ever see the movie "The Secret"?

ITS A GIFT! im gonna sound a lil wierd for saying that, but wen u see someone die, go and give them a real good time. u never know, u could save a life because giving joy and happiness always raises spirits in someone.

I think I have something similar, but not quite the same: Astral projection.
I've been having this for 2 years and wish that Science gets to the point of understunding this hidden potential.

It could be that you just think of the worst possible thing in a given situation, which is usually someone dying. I know that whenever something is just a tiny little bit wrong then i see the people involved as dead or horribly injured or something similar.
Although i can't say that these have come true, but you should nevertheless bring it up in a therapy session, and as long as you don't whole heartedly believe that this thing is real then they won't chuck you in the loony bin.
If you DO think this is real i cannot help you as it conflicts with my ideals.
