Quieter weather took over across KELOLAND today. Temperatures were also significantly cooler and the moisture in the air was way down as well. Despite most of the area dealing with great conditions we did have a few isolated showers this morning across southwest and south central South Dakota and across north central and northeast South Dakota this afternoon. A few more thundershowers will be possible this evening before a more widespread threat moves in overnight.

We will need to watch for a few strong storms around and after midnight across the west into central South Dakota. This small system will give us chance of showers and storms across the state for tomorrow. It will also mark the beginning of a new pattern. This type of weather pattern will be bringing in frequent smaller storm systems. The challenge for forecasting is pinning down the placement and timing of each of these little systems. Widespread severe weather isn’t likely but a few strong storms are possible with each system. Temperatures will steadily climb as we work through the week
