How old do you really look?

Puberty can be a very confusing time in your life. For instance, a friend of mine who is 14 says that people think he is 22, Now that seems very unrealistic. I guess he started Puberty at a young age. People think im 14/15 which is right but How old do some people think you are? And the main question is what causes these dramatic growths?

Im 16 but I look much younger when I drive (do to my short 5'6" stature, and lean body) which garners strange attention from the authorities who like to verify my driving credentials. However when I am talking to someone I dont know or working, people generally think I am a college student. The phone is even worse because my voice is very mature, people often mistake me for my dad, and people I dont know think I am like 25 years old. When I am in my work clothes (coveralls and boots) I dont get carded when buying dip even though im 16...

I'm almost eighteen, but I have no problem getting into night clubs or bars. I'm 6' 1" and weigh just about 200 lbs and can grow a full beard within a week and a half. :P
I've always looked older. It runs in my family. We age fast, and stay that way. My mom is 37, and people mistake her for my sister or girlfriend.

I guess it just has to do with certain hormones, and an early onset of puberty.

Normal ages I get mistaken for is averaged around 19 - 21.

I used to have hair almost down to my waiste and this winter, I grew my beard for almost 4 months. That probably made me look about my age, which is 17, since the beard was absolutely riddiculous.
However, I shaved in like february and as soon as summer break started in june, I cut my hair off and had a shave(usually shave a couple of times a week but sometimes a let it grow out of lazyness) and suddenly I looked like I was 15.
Although some people think I look older than I am. There was an extra ticket check in the subway a while ago and I have I ticket that's for people up to 20. The lady who was checking the ticket put a weird look on her face and said "How old are you?!". I did NOT take that as a compliment xD
