How easy is it to find information based on a name or phone number? I've tried yellow pages and white pages and they've both sent me to another site to pay for information. Is there any way to get this information without paying for it?

I'm sorry if this is illegal or immoral or whatever. And this isn't for finding anyone on VT just FYI.

It depends on your country - in France, there is a free website to access the white pages/yellow pages content.

In the US, I've heard that AnyWho (http://www.anywho.com/) or White Pages (http://www.whitepages.com/12116/log_click/) could give good results.

I know yellow pages and white pages... I mean if you do a reverse look up on a cell phone number and they can tell you who it's registered to and whatnot.

Looking up in the yellow or white pages, you need to know the person's first and last name, address, city, and state. You could also try dialing the 411 number and asking for a person's number (once again, you need to know first and last name, address, city, and state).

If you're looking for an online source, I've found that this (http://www.411.com/) works pretty well.

You can't use the normal site such as Yellow/White pages to look up Cell Phone numbers, the reason being is in the current world there are millions of cell phones and having each one listed would require tons of work. That is why you have to pay to get cell phones reserved, mainly because the site you are using has to pay the cell phone provider to give them the information you want.

It as depends on the type of Cell Phone, if it's pay-as-you-go then there will be no record, and some companies will not allow cell phones to be reversed...
