Whats the difference between a mod and a global mod?

The difference used to be clearer because there were different moderators in different forums, whereas the global moderators covered all forums. For the last few months all moderators cover all forums so its less obvious what the differences are. What it now comes down to is that there are certain functions, I'm not staff so may not get it quite right, but these include the ability to edit peoples signatures and avatars, which the gmods can do but lower mods cant. I believe, but may be wrong, that also includes bans.

A moderator can moderate most areas of the forum and infract etc.

A Gmod can moderate the whole forum but also ban people permanently etc. and also access more advanced moderation tools.

Basically GMods have more 'power' than normal Mods.

Mods don't moderate everywhere. GMods can, they are a lot more powerful

Gmods can moderate the VT HQ sub section, and all other parts of the forum, regular mods cant mod the VT HQ section. Gmods are also consulted on staff appointments and other importants decisions involving the site. Gmods can also ban and freeze people, but regular mods cant.

Gmods can also infract right? or only admins do that?

Mod, GMods and admins can infract. Though banning is up to the Gmods and admins.

The gmods have a more broader control than mods. They can moderate virtually any subforum (section) mods are priority, but can now moderate more sections.

Misleading, everyone on staff can infract.
