I love my Mom and all but we were talking about self harm and she pissed me off on saying were looking for attention
that made me FREKING PISSED and now im scared to tell my mom and dad bout my SH
and she said we need psychiatric evaluation which we kina do
......

Unfortunately. Some people will never 'get it', because their minds are not open to new perspectives, and that is just too bad. You'll meet many more likewise people along the way - there's no use trying to explain to someone who isn't willing to listen, and you'll know when your efforts have come to no avail. Accept it, and either let it go or try to find some way around it.

If you're looking for professional help, I'm assuming that telling parents will have to be part of the plan. In that case, just let them think what they will, so long as they grant you permision to get help. In the context of finding support from family and friends, if one doesn't want to make that effort to understand you, then it's in your best interest to keep certain issues private - exposing deep secrets only to be mocked and disregarded will only make things worse for you. This needs not get in the way of your relationship with her significantly - it is possible to agree to disagree.

But of course, that's not to say that your mother is a bad person. She just has her own views that are completely closed to opposition. You can try to reason with her, if you feel able, but it's okay even if you can't. Most people don't understand us, and that is what makes those who do, so rare and special.

people never unerstand what it is about until thye've experienced it themselves. my mother thought it was a phase. perhaps you could talk to your mom about it more?

People who havent done it, or dont have much experence in dealing with it, dont understand.
Its the reason why I didnt tell any of my family about it, I knew they wouldn't understand.
But dont be afraid to get help, chances are they will have heard similar stories before

most people dont understand SH or suicide unless theyve been there and had the urges to do the things we do so if you need to talk im here for you and so are all of us here <3 and you can talk to your mom but some people are just stuck in their ways and wont listen...good luck with this issue and professional help is a great thing i got it and it helped quite a bit... :) <3

i know a few people who do cut for attention (you can tell because they show it to everyone... which pisses me off) but i also know a few people who cut for different reasons and i can respect that
