An issue I had with the "Law of Attraction" is that, it asserts that the individual is responsible metaphysically for everything that happens to them, internally and externally. That can easily be taken the wrong way for someone with depression, to feed into thoughts of 'I'm worthless, it's all my fault, I deserve all of this', and so forth. Changing fundamental negative beliefs (as it's not enough to just think, one must believe) is never easy and often involves more than just a conscious decision to do so. In the context of dealing with depression, I would say that the ideas presented here are too simplistic - yes, we need to recognize and break free of destructive thought patterns, but 'how' that process will work involves a combination of many factors and varies from person to person.

Though, that's not to say that this film isn't worth thinking about. If you think its teachings are compatible with you personally, then go for it - as with any strategy, some will respond to it well and others will not.

It's been a while since watching this in full, so if I've missed something important feel free to mention. But that's my opinion of it.

that makes sense. but it presents ideas that can help people move forward in their lives. if someone is depressed.. what would happen if they just simply tried to consciously change their thought pattern to make it a more positive one?

The reason for a lot of peoples depression is because they don't speak how they truly feel, they mask it up.. and hold it and bottle it in. if they would simply let out their emotions, and try to empty the space thats been filling up with so many negative thoughts, then maybe there would be room for more positive thoughts and emotions to take their place. This film can help bring those positive emotions in.
