I've been wanting to get one or the other, but I don't know anyone who has them, so my question is:
Is there a difference between them? And if so, what are they?

theyre basically the same, even though my soulsilver turned out waaaay better. i even beat the powered up elite 4

The only difference is the available pokemon and the title screen...basically. Although HeartGold has a wider selection.
