Helping you with your question right now is impossible because you need to specify a few things. First, what is the anti-depressant you take, dosage and how long have you been on them? Second, what was the medication your father has?
Just remember, when you completely stop taking a medication, you're going to experience certain effects and the types of effects vary on the medication and dosage. Likewise, when you start taking a certain medication, you first take a small dosage then gradually work up. I don't think it's due to your body being used to no pills but you taking some then completely stop taking them. Your body will attempt to adjust to the changes (i.e. pills).

With most anti-depressants your body takes weeks for the medication to "build up" in your system, which is why you don't feel an immediate effect like you would with an ADHD medication. This is also the reason why doctors do not immediately remove you from anti-depressants. They gradually decrease your dosage, then take you off of them. I suggest you try your best to continue your prescribed medication, try to make it a routine.
Your head aches could be due to not having the medication for a while. Do they occur when you take the medication like you normally should?

Selina, doctors prescribe different people different dosages and medications for good reasons. You should take YOUR pills, in the proper dosage, as directed by your doctor. Taking someone else's prescription medication is very risky, and an unnecessary risk at that when you have your own meds.
