Hey peeps,
I was just thinking about something and i'm sure i've missed something here which someone will pick up on because im no expert when it comes to the bible :P

From what i know about it, Jesus taught that judging people and stereotyping people is BAD! But I was just thinking that if Christians are taught not to judge then why do they judge Gay people as bad people?

I know it's short but thats all I pretty much know so what are your thoughts, opinions (or facts if your knowledgeable enough) on this?

yeah. that's what i think whenever i here some preachers talk. one time they were talking about gays and saying that they did accept them that they didn't like the way the sexual turn out was going to be, meaning man-on-man or woman-on-woman sex is wrong. but then again why cant you just except everyone for what they do and just be one happy world. but that'll never happen. :(

Peace God

When it says "judge", many take it in the sense of determining whether one goes to hell, heaven or purgatory (if you believe in purgatory). So when people say they cannot judge someone, they mean it in this sense, not in the sense of giving their personal opinion. It's odd because they usually use a different sense of the word "judge" but don't often define that. Their sense of the word means taking the authority of the ruler god giving a final verdict and obviously they are in no position to do that and they reinforce this by saying they cannot judge others, only god can. It would be better if they used a separate word (stereotyping would not be that word) to give clarity on this.

There are two problems that account for much of the anti-gay Christian element, these are:-

the old testament
St Paul

I agree with you that Christ's message (which by definition is the Christian message) is one of tolerance and love for all.

There's a difference between what their bible says they SHOULD do and what they do do.
