A bruise is internal bleeding, apply a cold compress to it when you get it for a lil while and it will reduce the severity.

how long after it happened will that work?
and how long till after it happened does a bruse stop being a lump and turn into funny coloured skin?
coz mines are still lumps atm, reli hurts still, thanks x

Well you just need to do it asap, but it will help reduce the swelling even if it's a day after. It's best to just do it immediatly though.
