There's no secret really, It's been 6 months for me and my girlfriend today actually, and we're a few hours apart. Communication and trust is the main thing you need to keep going. It's hard but its worth it in the end. Just make sure both of you are happy and stay committed, because if one of you isn't then there's more chance of it crumbling. Good luck :)

If your complete relationship is based on sex, it's not going to work. I didn't know if you meant "stuff" as in sex, or what. But since you talk on the phone and stuff, that's good.
Can you guys hang out with out doing your "stuff"? Is it awkward when you aren't attached? If so, fix it. You need to be able to go somewhere in public, and have a nice time just spending time with him.

communication from both parties, seeing their flaws and liking the flaws as well... overall just basic nurturing and understanding of one another, hope this helps... also sex doesnt always make a relationship better

well, 'stuff' as in holding hands and *cough* kissing. He's started to go up my shirt and all but he always makes sure...i'm okay with it. he calls me...a couple of times a day~ and we talk for.....half an hour :)

Communication, trust, respect and love. I've been with my boyfriend for over a year and a half and although we've had our rough spots so to speak, it's worth it in the end knowing he's always there for me and vice versa. Don't base your relationship off of sex though, that never ends well. This might sound cheesy but its true...you should be good friends first and boyfriend/girlfriend second.
