A man has been banned from keeping animals after his neglected pet dog made a bid for freedom and got her head stuck in a wall.

RSPCA inspectors found distressed Rottweiler-cross Nikita's head wedged through a vent outside a filthy flat where she had been trapped for two days with no food or water.

Her owner Montgomery Wandera, 24, had gone away with friends, leaving Nikita so desperate she tried to escape though a 6in hole used for the kitchen's tumble dryer vent.

But after forcing off the plastic vent cover, the animal got stuck leaving her head and body either side of the wall in Luton, Beds.

Neighbours who spotted her forlorn face sticking out of the brickwork alerted the RSPCA, who found the flat filthy with faeces in every room.

Wandera, of Luton, Beds, was banned from having pets for the next five years after admitting neglect at Luton Magistrates' Court on Thursday.

He was also handed a 12-month community order of 100 hours of unpaid work and told to pay £500 costs.

Poor girl, I can't see why people like that keep animals if all they do is neglect them. Sick bastards <.<

Very. I say he should have to go through the same treatment the dog went through.

I could never neglect my dog like that. Its a living thing and deserves to be treated as such. I'd love to see how the owner reacted to being like that for a while.

I don't understand it at all. If you get a pet, whether it's a dog or a bird, why get it if you just neglect to care for it? Might as well just bring the dog to a local animal shelter or put it up for others to adopt.

Sheesh, if you want a pet take care of it for once.

What a piece of shit. Why would you do that to a defenseless animal. Put him in prison for a long time. That's just terrible.

ITT: Oversensitive people

Sorry, but animal abuse is a common thing. This actually kinda made me chuckle a bit. At least the dog is fine.

Same.
It only had to go two days. I can do that. I'd rather not but it's not a mentally scarring thing to go through.

Thats not the only factor. The flat was filthy and I'm sure thats not the only thing the owner did to the dog.

someone should lock him in a room and force him to try to get out of a six inch hole.
sick bastard!!!
You think if i paid serial killer to do that he would.

p.s. im not promoting the idea paying a serial killer to lock someone in a room and force them to try to get out of a six inch hole. oh wait i kinda am.

p.s.s. look at the similar thread box below

True but that doesn't mean we shouldn't be sad when it happens.

Then you'd be depressed pretty much all day if you knew how often animal abuse happened. People only care when stories like this come out.

Animal abuse is too common! But yeah if we were sad everytime, then we'd be sad all the time.
Even thought it's common, it doesn't make it right. I still think it's sick. Poor dog.

That picture is kind of hilarious. Like cat with its head stuck in a can. I feel bad for the dog, but also don't care. There are so many things in this world to get worked up about before a dog that lived in slightly shitty conditions. What do we all think living conditions are like for wild animals, anyways?

Precisely. The world is a brutal place and life is never fair for any living creature, just depends on to what extent. This is a minor case compared to most of the animal abuse cases you'll hear out there, so I really genuinely don't understand what the big shock is. Just one more distasteful person and distasteful action out of countless.. this isn't to be cold, it's being realistic.

Yeah. There are far worse things going on. As sad that is, I find myself not caring.

Though I don't know why HE would want to live with animals if he's not going to clean up after them. He could've just taken them to a shelter.
