What is the difference between mp3 downloads (http://www.emusic.com/toolbar/download.html) and music downloads? Is there a really difference or just thee name? if so what do usually call them?

There's nothing different about them. You're getting the exact same thing, no matter where you download it from (be it iTunes or any other music store/download site).

MP3 is just the type of file it is. Its the same thing.
