Best Friend Syndrome

What do you guys think about extremely close friendships turning into a gay relationship?

My best friend and I have made out several times, but I can't tell if he just wants to be friends with benefits or something more. I'm fine with either, but I like him a lot and wanted to know what other people think about situations like this.

I truly believe that the most successful relationship partners are one another's best friends. Beauty fades, emotions are inherently unpredictable, but intellectual compatibility can go a long way.
