Well, there's a girl I have been meaning to ask out for a while now. We walk home quite often now, and I feel that we really connect. But... every time I have tried to tell her how I feel I lose the ability to speak. I feel so shy whenever I get onto the topic and if I managed to I'd most likely fuck it up and ruin my chances. So I've decided to write her a letter explaining how I feel... not an email or anything: a proper, hand-written letter. So do you think that this is a good idea or not?
Edit: Sorry for the spelling mistake in the title btw

Could be good could be bad. Sometimes it's nice to see their reactions in the moment because that's often when you see the truth, before they can put up a mask. Just do whatever you feel like. I find that works the best.

lol it appears I'd have similar problems with shyness... even on the internet I have difficulty expressing my affections.
A love letter is kind of sappy though (in my opinion, but I find everything from flowers to diamond rings unnecessary) but in essence it's very heartfelt and meaningful. And if she likes you back, and is willing to go out with you it would be no problem at all... if a girl likes you I genuinely think there's really no way of messin' up.
But obviously that might not be the case, so prepare yourself for the worst as well.
But if you think the time isn't right, and if you don't feel confident enough about sharing your feelings to her face, there's no harm in waiting either. I'm sure most girls have the intuition to know when a guy's interested, and if they don't, I'm sure you'll eventually gather enough queues to find out whether she's indeed interested.
Good luck!

Thank you guys. Well I have what I'm going to say saved (and passworded!) in Word at the moment. I guess since its the holidays I have a few weeks to decide whether I say these things or if I handwrite them and give them to her.
