Commercial Pilot a decent career?

When I'm older, I'm thinking of becoming a Pilot for whatever commercial airline is in the lead right now, or doing really well at the moment. My parents say that is a terrible decision. I don't know, is it?

It's a very hard training course, a lot of responsibility and a competitive job to get into.

Think very hard, is it what you really want to do, if so its up to you what you do with your life so go for it, if you think its the best thing for you.

Yeah, if you are responsible and can fly a plane without staying off of the com and flying on autopilot for 2 hours while going on the ol` laptop.
