iTunes 9 Ripping Problem

I got a CD from my cousin and I want to rip it to iTunes, something that usually doesn't take too long. But all of a sudden, it won't rip any faster than 1.2x. Its gone as low as .7x, which is painful. It takes at least 20 minutes to rip one song, which is awful. The drive sounds like its going faster and slower and faster and slower but it doesn't appear so. I'm having the same problems with Windows Media Player and Ashampoo Burning Studio 6 Free as well. Could it be the CD? Its Green Day's American Idiot.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Nevermind. Twas the CD. None of the songs came out right.

Try ripping it using windows media player, then transporting the files into itunes, maybe.
