Purging, starving, restricting, etc... all extremely unhealthily bad ways to go.

What has happened to cause you to gain weight?
Have you been overeating?
Do you do much exercise?
Do you eat healthy foods?
Are there any stresses in your life?

I think you should talk to your doctor about these concerns, and perhaps see a dietitian / nutritionist to help you change your life style.

You need not starve or purge, yes, you may very well lose weight, but you may also lose your health, & your life.

Please don't go down that road, please resist the urge to do so & reach out for help.

Take care.

As another poster has already mentioned; the whole restrict, binge and purge cycle is quite dangerous and one of the hardest habits to break through. Trust me, I've been there, and I'm still recovering (although I've improved a lot since the past years). It's horrible. Avoid it while you have the chance.

To lose the weight, I'd suggest you decrease your daily calorie intake and exercise more. There's really no other way about it. Fasting and crash dieting will make you temporarily lose weight, but then gain the weight (or even more) just as quickly. Screwing up your metabolism will just make matters worse.

When I feel like a fat cow and want to lose weight, I don't "diet" as such, I basically just have the same foods I normally would (i.e. I'm a sucker for ice-cream, chocolate and all the bad shit) but a lot less of it. Generally, when people claim to go on a diet, they immediately think that they have to live off vegetables and porridge or whatever, and they're absolutely not allowed to eat candy. I find that's not the case. If you keep within a significantly lower calorie limit (no matter what food sources the calories come from) you will lose weight. However, if you're overly health-concious, you'll probably want to eat like a rabbit. :P

Furthermore, convincing yourself that when it comes to losing weight there are "forbidden" foods and "allowed" foods isn't going to help whatsoever. That's just NOT the trap you want to fall in. Binging later on will become much more likely.

Well, that's my own personal weight loss advice.

Whoa, don't purge and don't starve yourself.

No matter what you think, that is definitely NOT the way to lose weight and it will only hurt you in the end.

All you need to do is CONTROL your eating, not stop eating. So eat smaller portions, eat lots of fruits and vegetables instead of fried or greasy food.
Also, get out and do some type of fitness. Join a sport (even if youre bad at it) or just go out for a walk with your friends every day.

And if people are starting to tell you that you are gaining weight, take it with a grain of salt, and start working on it (the right way), dont feel bad about it as much

Good luck :)
