Why is it that when a music group breaks up, almost every time only 1 member becomes the most popular and successful? Some examples would be the Spice Girls with Victoria Beckham and Destiny`s Child with Beyonce`.

Because alot of bands have people who are way to good to be in them. Like Steve Howe in Asia, or Steve Vai in Zappa, Dave Groehl in Nirvana, Everyone in flogging molly. For example! Take Santana playing in Nickelback (which he did) He is soooooo much better as a musician. Sometimes, they just go their seperate ways for better oppertunities.
