I'm Roman Catholic but our church doesn't specify rules on circumcision.. most Catholic boys are circumcised anyways, including myself. We go to Mass every weekend, I'm pretty fine with it. The Catholic Church is quirky on some sexual matters but then again when it comes to sex and the like, I heed my own path ;)

Circumcision, like people have said originated as a Jewish tradition. People started circumcising their children because of the mis-belief that is is more 'clean'. Which scientifically, there is no difference except a few things that the chances of are extremely small.

Statistically, ONLY 5% of ALL men in South America, Central America, Europe, and Asia COMBINED are circumcised. The areas that have the most men circumcised are Islamic nations, Israel(we all know why), and strangely the United States.

Ultimately, it all depends on what the parents prefer and also what and how the doctor suggests it to the parents. There is not much difference, except that uncut guys have to wash under the foreskin which doesn't take but another 30 seconds or less, and that cut guys have a bit less sensitivity in their 'head' because it gets used to rubbing against underwear, and etc.

Just my two cents. :)

(( I have to make an edit. I'm Catholic now. But still.))

I was born a catholic. I am cut, and am happy with it. No I don't goto church, I have my own beliefs and a more personal relationship with god, I guess you could call me Buddhist.

PS: Most everybody who is cut, got cut as a little baby. The pain would be too much for a full grown adult to bear, babies don't remember the circumcision, the pain or much else from that time in their lives.

I am Catholic/ Protestant (go to either), and am cut. For the poll, I think that you should just make Christianity one and others like Jewish, Muslim, etc others.

Hope this helps, cool survey!

Cut
Yes, my choice, not my parents'
Yes, it is mentioned, but what I find most annoying is that a particular pope made a statement on circumcision that nobody really payed attention to; it went something along the lines of: 'Circumcision, when done to infants without possibility of consent, is a sinful mutilation unless there is very conclusive evidence that being circumcised reduces or eliminates the risk for a disease that cannot be prevented through any other means'. Basically, since there is no evidence of circumcision helping prevent ANY disease, RIC (Routine Infant Circumcision) is a grave sin for both the parents who consent for it to happen and the doctors that perform them. Making the decision to have yourself circumcised for non-medical reasonswhen you are old enough to understand the risks and cons, that is different (but still sinful; this time for you).

Sorry for the rant, but in order for it to stop someone has to place the seed of doubt.
