In modern society we tend to make a bunch of errors with what we eat. This springs from a basic lack of awareness as to what exactly is in our foods and their nutrient value. For instance it's almost impossible now to get the important nutrients that your body needs from even a well-balanced diet plan, without taking supplements.

So why is this?

Clearly the key problem is food processing. The processing of food is intended to increase taste, lengthen life and make a food product look better. Unfortunately this has a great influence on the nutrients in the food.

Then there's even a problem with our fresh produce. Poor soil nutrient quality and also long storage times each have an impact on the nutrients in the vegetables and fruit we eat.
