18 can't grow a proper beard?

I'm 18 and all I can grow is a lot of darkened bumfluff for the most part, you can feel it and see it quite clearly and it is brown/black but its not rough and black like adult stubble and i still have a smooth face, not rough like a stubble face like an adult has. when I shave it all off, i can see spots of adult stubble which is rough but its not visible. So bascially I have a smooth face besides when my darkened bumfluff grows. The only progression from a year ago is this bumfluff is growing on my neck. I know 'not everyone can grow facial hair', however my brother was able to grow it from about 19 and my Dad grows facial hair (a lot of stubble, moustache etc). I'm White/Caucasian so I should be able to grow it, will it happen in the next year or two you think? I started puberty at 13 and not 11/12, so is it just me being a late bloomer?

Facial hair growth seems to be really random. For instance, I'm 15 and can successfully grow sideburns and a neck beard, but my dad was 25 when he could finally grow an "adult beard". Only time will tell and don't sweat it. Hope this helps!

There is no "you will grow a beard at 18". It all has to do with your genetics. It is normal so don't worry. Just think of this as God saying "I'll make you have to shave less in your life" :)

What!? I am 18 and I don't have a bear. I mean, I can grow a nice Sideburns up to my Jaw but I can't grow a goatee. You have to wait. You can try the "Shaving with blade" myth.

At 18 you are still technically in puberty. Your body continues to develop at an accelerated rate, puberty, until the age of 21 and as late as 25. This is actually why you can't drink until you are 21, you brain is still developing. It will come. Probably by 19 or 20. Just keep it shaved, don't draw attention to it is you are self consouse.

It'll come but its going to take awhile. In this respect I was lucky, I started shaving in the 5th grade and I (Usaully but haven't recently) shave every day.

im 19 and i get faciual hair regularly. be gladd you dont have it. it is a hassle.

not everyone gets alot of facial hair. even if you started puberty late or early or whichever it doesn't really make a difference on the amount of facial hair that's just determined by your genes. i think guys get some facial hair eventually but not all of us get beards or anything
