I'm so happy.. the trailer is finally out. I know that the books are almost always better but from this trailer the films are looking to be pretty good too. Unlike the Half Blood Prince, God that film was shit.
Anyway. Enjoy and tell us your thoughts.

I read the book. I want to watch the movie now
to those of you that read the book, don't you think Rowling shouldn't have killed off some of the characters? especially two of them

Need I mention that some people reading this thread may not of read the final books so lets not spoil it for them...
I agree that Rowling shouldn't of killed off as many characters as she did, when I think about it though. I think that the books wouldn't off been the same or as emotional if everyone was fine and lived happily ever after.. I will be interested to see how the movie portrays the deaths and injuries... *A certain someone's ear...*

OOOOOOMMMMMGGGGGG I can't wait until November now!!!
Hey... Is this the trailer for both parts or just the first? :/
I don't think she should have let any of the characters who were killed llive, it *spoiler alert... kinda, it's pretty obvious anyway..* was pretty much a war, you can't have no major characters die in a war.

Well where the ones who do die in the battle really main characters?
YesterdaysNews

They played pretty large parts at least one time in the series. Just sayin'.
MadManWithaBox
June 30th, 2010, 09:19 PM
I'm not trying to undermine their significance mind. One of them is on of my favorite characters of the entire thing. But their not as main as say Harry himself. Although one of them is important.

The first death in the book should get the film rated R. I mean seriously. When I heard people in the store on release night asking "Do you think she's gonna kill off _____" Everyone was like "No way, that would be way too evil."

I thoght that was a pointless death, and so early into the book!

I mean...it looks okay.
Seems the same level of intensity as the last 4 movies.
So I don't see what people think is darker or more intense or scarier whatever whatever.
Looks comparable to the last

Wow are they're milking it.
Pissed me off when they moved the release date for the last one by almost a year just because of Twilight.
Nonetheless, I can't wait :D

I'm quite glad that it's going to be in two parts, even though it's split up.
At least then they might be able to include the majority of the main story, unlike in the half blood prince.. Can you tell I hated that film?

It's the plot. It's quite a bit darker. I actually cried reading parts of that book. Specifically the death for which Harry dug a grave.

Yeah the first character in that book that died. :( why did she do it? :(
My friend's idea was to prove that no one was safe. My idea is that she's an evil, horrible sadist. But still the best author the world has ever seen.

Well... Harry is inside Voldemorts head all through the last book, maybe it's just a more prominent visualisation of that connection.
Yeah the first death. :( why did J.K. Rowling have to kill...._____ off? :(
I'm going to have to read the damn book again, I'm not sure who dies first... I've got it narrowed down to two people...
It's the plot. It's quite a bit darker. I actually cried reading parts of that book. Specifically the death for which Harry dug a grave.
I actually wasn't fond of that character, I mean I didn't hate him. I just didn't get any connection, maybe I will when we see what he does to help Harry and the gang.

And you know what? That death MEANT SOMETHING. As opposed to death #1. Death number one was pointless. The grave death advanced the plot and gave a wonderful character a meaningful and poignant send off.

Exactly. And It snaps Harry out of the hallows thing, with the knowledge, that he died for him, and what dumbledores purpose was for him, and everyone else. Brilliant.

I guess it could be seen as milking it, but this way they can't use the excuse of "We couldn't fit it all in" so hopefully they may not leave a lot out like they do other films
MadManWithaBox
July 3rd, 2010, 05:44 AM
I hope they don't leave alot of stuff out here, or skimp on the sub plots like they ddid with the others. I mean they can't leave out the dumbledore one, and apart from that, not much else.
Giles
July 3rd, 2010, 03:52 PM
I'm thinking that the movies aren't going to be very long, maybe just over an hour. That way they can leave out the good parts like they love to do.

im gonna shit myself best book ever... *SPOILER* criedd when ron left for a bit. i want everything well most things from the book... yea and the half blood prince shouldve been better they missed out on most of the memories and focused on too much harry and ginny... ugh.... and there was a nice fight scene supposed to be at the end but no... the last movie better have everything right if they are gonna skip some parts thats cool but if you include a good part make it epic.... this is harry potter
suprise
July 8th, 2010, 08:08 AM
yeah, its gunna be good. although i wish it had followed the story line more, like the movie series in general. still can't wait...

I completely agree, if I'm being honest. I don't care about the relationship Harry and Ginny have, sure it adds to the emotion of the films/books, but I'd much rather that they cut down on the shit about them and included the fight scene at the end, instead of just having the death eater running away..

July 8th, 2010, 12:33 PM
but i would also say it was probably the worst book IMO... but it was needed to set everything up to the huge finale which is now 2 parts XD also the scene where voldy was holding the kid up close to his grotesque face i thought that was neville... you know at the end of the book :P

same here i will forgive them only then... also after the 1st and 2nd movie the old dumbledore died but i had already the 4th book before he died and in the 4th book dumbledore was shown more super wizard-like than usual when he was running to see barty crouch going insane or when he stunned crouch jr harry for the 1st time saw the reason why voldemort feared him but i guess what im getting is that i couldnt imagine the dumbledore actor from 1st and 2nd play as an energetic yet possibly 500 year old man, could you?

DUDE! im soo excited! lol. but it sucks that it's split up into two! mann... lol. it was a wonderful book and i hope the movie is just as good or better. :D
Giles
July 8th, 2010, 07:49 PM
I suppose that the old Dumbledore was a bit... frail. It's just a shame that 'new' Dumbledore wasn't offered the place for the first two movies too, that way it would be a bit more organised and efficient.
Ryan, I think that it's a great thing they the film is split into two. At least that increases the chances of the films having more and more of the story and extra information, the comedy etc..
