Child Neglect.

It seems no matter where you go, Child Abuse, Child Molestation and other forms, are shunned.
It's made into something taboo to talk about.
It happens so much, and even in our own homes sometimes, yet it's not able to be talked about. It's hushed up.
Alot of Child Abuse and other forms, are never reported, alot of times, do to fear of 'breaking up the family' or 'being found out.'
What do you think? do you think it should stay hushed, or be openly talked about?

Unwanted.
A scream for Mommy.
A glisten in the eye.
Will you be there to play with me?
The scream rings clear again.
Why did you leave me, where did you go?
I love you, and you walk past.
A cling to a friend, a promise of love.
I do not understand, What did I do?
Unwanted, but still waiting..

It should be reported and although it's not a subject that is pleasing, it's something that is necessary to be talked about to the right people. By talking about it more, people can understand it's prevelance, some effects and possibly be more willing to intervene. In the media, the only time it's heard is for extreme cases that get sensationalized but it doesn't talk about the less extreme, more common ones.

It's kind of odd really. People often are more willing and more interested about talking about killers, yet the moment something about child sexual offences comes up, people automatically hush up about it, as though it's something too extreme to talk about. The result is people don't generally understand child sexual offences and offenders, so nobody is willing to protect the children whom we have so many laws and policies enacted in order to protect them. Ironic on that also.
