Which country is better? Obviously there are a variety of issues but which country has the most pregedius history, greatest heros, even best TV shows.

Britain or America and Why

Well, Britain has come further in passing laws to give people rights which only some states of America have.

Camazotz

Britain because it has a longer history, and thus more time periods for flourish. Currently, I like my United States. But in any case, each country will be better in some category, and it's in the opinions of their inhabitants to decide which is better. So I'm torn and can't vote.

When it comes to this, it really reflects a quote I've heard a lot lately.

"Its not right, its not wrong, its just different."

I don't think they can be compared, but rather respected in their individual rights.

this is an amazingly vague question...

I mean...I say socially...probably the UK.
Economically probably the US.
Governmentally...probably the...US?
Militarially, the US; durr.

Such a vague question so its hard to compare.

Both have weaknesses and strong points

I can't say either country is definitively better than the other, but boiling down to a few things, I would personally rather live in the US: More varied landscape, cultural and geographically, a better (in my opinion) public schooling system, and less restrictive gun laws.

You're only saying that because you are used to American spelling. Myself, I find American spelling weirder; but naturally I would seeing that I'm British. Also, in my experience, on forums (such as this one), it tends to be the British people who type more coherantly.

Britain's 13 colonies on North America gave way for the first states of the US. Plus, the US' acquired most of its territories by buying them from France and Russia. Later on, Texas conceded to be another state. Even though US grew faster, England had more time for development than any other newbie nations.

Has America conquered all of Africa and America? Britain conquered the world in a way only a few powerful individuals (Julius Caesar, Adolf Hitler etc) have ever done. Why is France the reason the US is its own country, it certainly contributed to the growth of America with the Lousissana Purchase, but most Americans are of British descent.

There is no need for an army, owing to NATO and NORAD, if anyone attacks Canada, America will be on their  before you can say owned

+REP. "Hello i'm an American" - YOU AMERICAN DEVIL, I WILL KILL YOU INFIDEL!
"Hello, i'm Canadian" - "Oh that's swell! :D That Terry Fox is a hell of a guy!"

Has America conquered all of Africa and America? Britain conquered the world in a way only a few powerful individuals (Julius Caesar, Adolf Hitler etc) have ever done.
Fact 1. England controlled less than 1/3 of Africa.
If you can understand French, please refer to this map:http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/4/43/Africa1898.png
Fact 2. France conquered all of Quebec, England bought the rest of Canada after it won New France as a prize.
Fact 3. England conquered less than 7 of the original colonies. Treaties, money and American colonists did the rest until 1783.
Fact 4. France conquered Louisiana; America bought it.
Fact 5. Spain, Portugal and France conquered the rest of North and South America, England didn't.
Fact 6. America is the most powerful country in the world in terms of technology, economy and in some ways, it's military.
Why is France the reason the US is its own country, it certainly contributed to the growth of America with the Lousissana Purchase, but most Americans are of British descent.
http://xenophongroup.com/mcjoynt/yrtnsieg.htm
Ever heard of the Siege of Yorktown? You know, the massive ass-kicking that America and France gave the British? Did they not teach you in school that without the money, munitions, advisors, soldiers and navy that the French provided was the cause for the U.S winning the war? Do they not teach the fact that France actually won a war against England? If you don't know what you're talking about, don't say anything.

Thanks for playing.

you don't need thousands, thats the beauty and terror of a nuke....one is more than sufficient to destroy a great deal, especially considering allot of models have multiple warheads and are capable of taking out multiple cities at once.

Does it really matter? The two countries are huge name countries, in both you have probably the most rights as a people in the world. You are protected by two of the best armies, that are geared with some of the best technology. The two have been successful in previous wars, and we have patched up our previous issues. I don't think you can really put one over the other. Of course someone will say Nationalism, of course america/britain is better.

Technically, there really wouldn't be an America. It's debatable. It would either be a bunch of seperate colonies, or a bunch of trible territories. However, colonizing an area that is already pretty much inhabitited is not a admirable feat.

I wasn't comparing the restaurants/fast food areas as such, but more the portion sizes. I believe that a video called Supersize me was done to reflect this. One of the British people actually tried eating out using their smallest portion sizes (but "upgrading" to king sized when asked) for a week or something, and he endedup vomitting because he had to eat it all and it was all too much.

If he's American than I heard wrong since I was told he was British. So I take that back. As for the portion size thing, it doesn't make your food inferior, but it is rather annoying when people only want a smallish amount of something and can't get it making them have to pay more for what they don't want.

You can get a small if you want, or take the leftovers to go. It's very bad practice for a restaurant of any kind to have it's patrons go hungry. Better to serve more and have the person take home the extra than to serve too little and have the person hungry after they finish eating.
