What's up guys? Okay, so, one of my best friends is a cartoonist struggling to go pro. He's started drawing his own legitimate comic book and really needs some criticism.
My friend is a talented and passionate artist and he's ALWAYS getting better. He just turned 17 by the way. I fully support him but it would be great if he had ur support too.
Ok...i'm done with the life story of this kid. Here's some of his latest work:

That is an amazing talent. I am not one much for comic books, but it actually kept me interested, and that was awesome! Scale 1-100 = 100!

I can't discern if that's Manga or Comic.(Mangaka Are Manga Artists)
He needs to practice, a lot of practice. No one can be a mangaka in a fortnight. Most mangaka started at aga 21-24; meaning, they had technical education on Manga and or other Comic style.
He needs to brush up on these:
Anatomy+Proportions - Yes, both mine and thine enemy. He really needs to practice those two atrocities. I advice that he takes a full month on this.
Perspective - He lacks it, and anyone who indulged in technical arts for at least a week can easily spot his mistakes.
=====
If those are just drafts, he doesn't need to worry, only needs to practice more.
I personally would call those as "doodles", but whatever satisfies you.
If he wants support, just tell him that he needs practice. Passionate, yes; talented, not sure.
I don't know if it is Practice or Practise, that I am not sure in.

mmm...
Several things I'd like to say to the artist:
Start by the basics: that is, perspective and representation of the real world. Comics (regardless of their style) all are a stylized representation of real-world items, objects, people or places. You cannot properly draw a character "manga style" if you don't get how a real human is built. I'd say that those panels do not show a very good understanding of perspective or anatomy, so that's the first point to study.
Clean your work: erasers or white ink exist for a good purpose - to present a clean work, and erase any unnecessary construction line. Also, when something is wrong, erase and redo. Your panel lines need to be sharp and straight with each other; your texts must be of a constant size and follow straight lines. Else, it looks amateurish.
I'll be honest: I think that there is not enough effort put into making the drawings as good as they should be. You should take much more time on polishing your work. You should also start your drawings by establishing the base structure of objects and people, to ensure proper proportions and perspective.

I really think that he COULD go somewhere with this if he just put more effort into it. Like Darkwoon said, he needs to polish his work. If he can't pull it off, it still might make a good novel, but I don't know if that is his cup of tea.
