Do the lgbt people get treated good in england? It seems like England is a good place and more tolerant than freakin the U.S. Ive even been there and all the people are really nice, but that was when i ws 10 and did not know what sperm was. Anyways, its interesting how gay people have been knighted by the queen and i just want to know if gay people have good lives there

It entirely depends on which part you live in.

I think it's just like any country: there are accepting people, and there are bigots. Now, as far as I know, none of the major political parties in the UK are run by homophobes (cough, Republicans coughcough). But then again, I've never been to England, so I'm no expert. I do know Brighton is roughly equivalent to San Fransisco, but Aaron (Kaius) would know more about that ;) :P

Indeedy.
Where I live, no one really cares that much. Whilst yes it might be frowned upon by some people, they won't actively do anything about it.

OK, so here's the politically incorrect (but honest) answer. It does depend partly on where you live but it depends much more on your socio-economic class and background. The middle classes are far more tolerant than the working classes so if you live in one of the industrial city centres and go to a so called "sink school" its not great. Of course the upper classes have all been queer for years :)

Indeed, Brighton is known as the "Gay Capital" We have a lot of LGBT Couples here, and tbh no one gives a shit. Yeah we have the every day run of the mill homophobes, but they get sorted out >.< Brighton can be rough. Every August we have a huge carnival, parade and funfair dedicated to the LGBT People in the city, and everywhere else. People flock in from all sorts of places, even as far as Australia.

The UK is very pro-gay, defiantely more tolerant of homosexuality than Americans

OK, I've been trying to stay out of political debates, but I have to point out one thing. The vast majority of Republicans, as well as the leadership, are not homophobic. Hell, there's even a subsection of Republicans, comprised entirely of LGBT members. (http://online.logcabin.org/) Is there overlap between certain sections of homophobes and the Republican party? Sure. But that has nothing to do with their membership in the Republican party. Those are the right wing nuts, who most Republicans would rather not be associated with, just like there are certain left wing nuts most democrats would rather not be associated with.
