I have a problem. My iPhone dies way too fast. Usually the battery is supposed to last for a good 2-3 days. But mine dies within a few hours. Most people can watch a full movie and still have more than 80% battery power left. Mine can't even finish a full movie. So my question to you is, is there any way I can make my battery span longer? Even when the brightest is all the way down and on airplane mode it still dies fast.

which iPhone do you have?
How long have you had it?

Its an 8GB 2nd generation. My cousin had it before I did so I'm guessing its pretty old.

can you not just replace the battery like on other mobile phones, or do they use the stupid ipod trick to make you buy the latest model?

No, iPhone batteries are built in.
Considering you have an iphone 3g...i would think that if you REALLY want to get a new battery you can probably go to the apple store and drop some big bucks.
Otherwise I would highly recommend just selling your current one and getting a new one. The battery life has improved tenfold on iPhones since 8GB 3G.

But anyways, you have an older phone, you should think about getting a new one for capabilities too.

Either way, umm to try to squeeze out more battery life, make sure you turn wifi off when youre not using it (same with 3g) and make sure you competely close applications when you aren't using them by holding down the home button when you are within the app.

You can get it replaced but it costs money. I don't know how much but seeing as its by Apple its probably too much that I can afford right now. Im just looking for a way to give it a boost. Even if it means modding or whatever.

And I wanna get a new one, one of the newer models, but I got this for free
Oh and I don't have service ( or 3G ) for it. I use it like an iPod.

Plus since its so old I don't really know how much money I can get from it, and the newer models are expensive and I have no money to put into a new one.

Turn off wifi when not using, turn brightness down to 1/2, and buy a mophie case as they double(or tripple) your battery life.

The mighty Blue Apple deems you unfit to use that machine.

In all seriousness, though, you're really just better off sucking it up because you'll get screwed by Apple if you get a new one or buy a new battery. Life sucks.

BOOM $6. (http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-19512_7-10253445-233.html):P

How much does it cost?
The service costs $79. A $6.95 shipping fee will be added if you arrange service online or by calling Apple Technical Support.
All fees are in US dollars and are subject to local tax.

I dunno for you, but for me thats not really thattttttttttt much... But... yeah.

Or wait for the new one and camp out. *coughimdoingthatcough*

Look for tips on macforums for battery saving stuff, a quick search will get some results. If you've already done that, well welcome to the club, mine last about 5 hours if I'm using it a lot. The batteries suck for the most part so I'm looking forward to the new one because it has a bigger battery, although it has more needs for that battery so it could be just as bad. Good luck.

i recomend selling that and buying the new one considering the fact that the ios4 update isn't even for the iphone 2
