Jon Venables, one of the killers of toddler James Bulger, has been charged with downloading and distributing child pornography, it can be reported.

Venables is accused of downloading onto his computer 57 indecent photographs of youngsters between February, last year and February this year.

Jon Venables has been charged with child porn offences
He is also charged with distributing seven indecent images of children between February 1 and 23 this year.

Venables and Robert Thompson were jailed for life for the 1993 murder of two-year-old James, who was led away from a shopping centre in Liverpool by the then ten-year-olds.

They were jailed for life but released on licence in 2001.
Venables was recalled to prison in February following the new allegations.
But the criminal charges could not be reported until today when a judge at the Old Bailey lifted some reporting restrictions.

This is indictive of our failing prison system with a. Venables being sentenced to life and not serving life and b. Reoffending after being released. Another fine mess Labour has gotten us into

I think there's a danger of over reaction here. The original crime was horrible, but as far as we know he has not personally touched or directly harmed another kid since then. We do not, and probably never will, know whether he himself has suffered sexual assault during his custody, but you would have to be stupid not to think it was at least a possibility.

No one is over reacting. I think someone who was capable of murder at the age of 10 shouldn't be given the opportunity to reoffender. If he suffered sexual assault, then he deserves it. LIFE SHOULD MEAN LIFE

That's a horrible opinion, no one deserves to be sexually assaulted, no matter what they have done. Two wrongs never make a right.

Possible, Yes. I point I'm trying to make is what Venables did was replusive and he shouldn't have been released. I accept sexual assault is wrong but you can't deny that this guy should be punished, his is a child murderer and pedofile
