period painz

Okay so over the past 3 years I been having my period on and off im now 16, and lately ive had some NASTY period pain and i mean llike crippling. im on the pill which was meant to help. and also for safer sex etc.

i was wondering if anyone else was having pretty nasty pains too? and if u know why u had the pains?

yes i have had very bad period pain and like you im on the pill, it does for me seem to keep it under control. how is it working for you?

Period pain is caused by contractions in the womb or uterus which is followed by the period. Because the uterus or womb can be starved of oxygen can trigger off bouts of pain which are known as cramp. As the body continues to release chemicals which bring much more strong contractions and often cause pain in the womb these become stronger and more often as to does the pain

The pain is caused when the womb discards some of its existing lining in order to make way for new lining that will help to fertilise an egg by allowing the egg to become implanted in the womb, so that you can get pregnant, yadda yadda :P. This is a common factor in the cause of period pain and can vary from woman to woman, some feeling nothing whilst others feel tremendous pain. It depends on what the lining of your uterus does, though if you are really worried about the pain, go to the doctors and they can give you extra stong painkillers, which do work

I had a really bad cramp yesterday, it was like being stabbed or something and it would hurt really bad whenever I'd move, so I took a Midol and it made it better for a while but then it came back. Then I took Aleve and it was gone, then I went to bed. o.o

i have like, really bad cramps! sometimes i get fever and sometimes i puke. it is a completly nightmare for me

If your pills aren't helping your pains (which they should be), then consider seeing a doctor. They may give you a stronger medication.

Have you tried to take anything like Advil or Tylenol in addition to the pill to help stop the pain?

Okay; well after talking about pains it has gotten worse. and i have to go to the docs. and my mother suggested I'll have to have a pelvic exam! Omg. extremely nervous! Has anyone had one? please shed some light; also... problem of her not knowing I've lost my virginity! I don't trust any doctors and I'm scared for what will happen please help! :(
