I have a question for the moderators:

What is the policy (if there is any) about posting links to research studies?

If it ties in to the topic the thread your posting on is about, and as long as its a safe link which doesn't lead to porn or anything against the rules (advertising the site for example) then go for it by all means.

I would just like to add promoting a product for sale is not allowed either even if it is related to a help topic.

I have a question kinda similar........are you allowed to put in links to adoptable sites like pictures that when you click on them you get directed to an adoptable website where you take care of animals/eggs etc...........is that allowed...? (in sigs? in your own diary? [I know it's not allowed in other categories..])

If its a thread in your diary i don't see why not, depending on the content though. But if you wish to put it in your sig it has to be a personal site of your own.

Why dont we just make this simple. This is a quote from our rules that deals with this type of advertising.

Posts and signatures that advertise other websites and other flagrant advertising are not permitted. Links to external sites are allowed when they relate to a discussion, in your signature, the website section of your profile, and the Affiliate Member Sites and Links forum (with affiliate guidelines followed).

(we dont have that forum anymore)
