email account "hacked"

I put the hacked in quotes because I wasn't REALLY hacked, my emails are still there, it's just that someone has been sending spam emails that I didn't send. that's all. nothing has been deleted, just someone sending emails.....this happened several times, and I usually know when that happens when I go to my account and I have to type in a code to prevent junk email or something....I never gave away my password to anyone and it couldn't be any of my family members. can anyone give me an idea on who or what it could be?

It could've been a site that you've typed your email and password into. But in any case to stop it change your password and depending on whether its a virus on your computer doing so if its an msn/hotmail account scan your computer with a decent anti virus program and you should be alright. The correct term for it is "Phishing".

Same thing happened to me and I have no clue how it happened. Just change your password and that should fix it.
