The long road, in the setting sun
Shadows stretched too far behind us, fading into concrete
Smiles and scars of yesterday forgotten
We walk on, bearing yet the semblance, the facade
The absurdity of inconsistency
Unconscious
All that remains, what little could live on
Scornful visages testify for our failures
Where bare templates stand in rust, worn by time
Though we have become empty
Our path, the pinnacle of noblest aspirations
Rot in disgrace
Pick up the pieces and walk on
Shattered spirits and stunted figures
The consequence of our daring defiance
While in dark corners, decay persists in damp isolation
Its existence lost to the world, with the dawning of a new day
Cry no more, they said, for those deserving of no tears
Shadows stretched too far behind us, fading into concrete
Smiles and scars of yesterday forgotten
We walk on, bearing yet the semblance, the facade
The absurdity of inconsistency
Unconscious
All that remains, what little could live on
Scornful visages testify for our failures
Where bare templates stand in rust, worn by time
Though we have become empty
Our path, the pinnacle of noblest aspirations
Rot in disgrace
Pick up the pieces and walk on
Shattered spirits and stunted figures
The consequence of our daring defiance
While in dark corners, decay persists in damp isolation
Its existence lost to the world, with the dawning of a new day
