Hey so i'm 15 and my perents are away a lot and I find myself cooking a lot for myself. I was just wondering if anyone had some recipies that they could share with me. I would say that I am a fairly good cook, and was hoping for something a little more challangeing and more interesting than mac and cheese or tacos or chicken strips (I make my own breading :D).

thanks!!

Best advice I can give you:

Don't use recipes.

Experiment. Discover. Try new things.

Mince and Dumplings is one of my favourites:

You dont really need the Worcester Sauce or the Pepper/Onions, you could also just use ready made dumpling mix too if making them yourself is a challenge.

Goes great with Yorkshire Puddings, Veg and Mashed Potatoes.

heres a recipe for french fries.... they are really really good!

Ingredients
Potatoes (# depends on how many fries u want and how big the potatoe is)
Vegtable oil
Lemon juice (this is probably optional but i do think it adds great flavor)
Salt and Pepper (or any other seasonings... experiementing is always fun)

Instructions
Set oven for 450 F
Cut potatoes into wedges (what ever size/shape you want it to be)
Put into bowl
Pour vegtable oil and lemon juice over potatoes
Put on a lightly greased tray and sprinkle them with your seasoning
Put into oven for 45 minutes and flip them over about every 10- 15 minutes
Once they are golden brown take them out and ENJOY!

If you try them let me know how it goes.... I thought it was really simple and the tasted great. Best of luck.

if you want a nice curry, get some spices
a tub of garammasalla
youll also need garlic and onions
and some meat and potatoes
get yourself a nice non stick sauce pan and heat up some oil in it
then add some really finely diced garlic and onions and cook till they go clear
then add your spices (up to you which ones just dont overdo them cos it will kill your mouth)
Once the spices are all nice and simmery add your choped meat
cover in a pint of stock and milk(gives it bulk)
then add your potatoes
check on it every 15 minutes or so and add more water if its too low
check the meat and potatoes are cooked and there you go
chicken and potato curry stew
and if you feel a need boil up some rice or cook some chips to go with it but relaly its fine on its own if you add the spuds

Try making stir-fry! It is the easiest thing to cook, ever.

Get whatever vegetables you want (I prefer black beans, spinach, carrots, waterchestnuts, and red pepper).
Get whatever meat you want, or no meat at all. I usually put tofu in mine, but no meat or tofu at all is fine. However, if you plan on adding either of these things, no how to cook them. Undercooked meat will make you sick, and undercooked tofu is just really gross.
Get noodles or rice (optional). I prefer rice noodles, because they are thin, absorb flavour, and are healthy.
Then get sauces. Soy sauce is the most basic one you can use, but anything is fine.
Get spices too. Spices, nuts, cilantro, garlic, ginger, curry, salt, pepper, sesame seeds, whatever is fine.
Just fry it up in a pan, and then add your sauce towards the end. You will know when it is done.

I really like stir-fry because there are unlimited possibilities, it is quick, easy, and tofu needs to be fried anyways to eat.

Shrimp scampi over linguine pasta!!

I'm too lazy to provide a recipe, but look it up, its very easy but it looks like you put a lot of effort in it.
