m mom and dad are not together, and i have been seeing my dad and step mom every few weekends for the past 6 or 7 years. it is a three hour drive and we meet half way...i live with my mom and step dad and prefer it here with my mom. i am 16 years old now and i still want to see them, but with getting a job, social life, trying to maintain my grades and staying sane it is getting complicated. i am trying to explain, without being ride that i cannot see them that often anymore, because this time in my life will decide my future. they just had a daughter (my sister) and i want to see her so much, but i cannot see her that often. last time i tried to tell my step mom that it is getting complicated she said it has always been complicated for them and that it is more complicated for them with the baby...basically trying to say that they are better than i am, and i should continue tearing out my hair in order to keep seeing them multiple times a month...please give me suggestions on how to explain the situation to them...my conscience is a menace, and i cannot make them sad without feeling bad myself...please help me :what:

The best thing you could do is explain clearly to them what you're feeling like you told us here. They should understand. I know it can be hard for you to do that, but just try.

Good luck :)

i sorta know how you feel come next month my parents will have been separated for 6 years still no divorce so i know what its like being dragged back and forth between parents im dragged to different ends of the state so that is very stressful and as for telling them what you wanna tell em just do it as hard as it may be they will understand that you are trying to get your prioritys straight and that you just wanna get your life in order they will hopefully understand good luck

Just try and explain how you feel, and tell them everything you've wrote on here. Make a comprimise, say that once you've finished your exams or when you have more time you'll go see them for a couple of weeks to make up for the lost time. I'm sure they only want the best for you and your future.

Hope everything works out for you :)
