Here is a continuation of the NHL Playoffs thread.

Here we will discuss topics about the upcoming Draft and Free-Agency season. I'll update often with news but keep in mind the Draft is not until June 25 & 26, and the offseason begins on July 1. So until then, the news may be minimal.

Also a quick question for you hockey fans, will you be watching all 7 rounds of the draft?

Oh yeah, I almost forgot to bask in the win of my predictions :D

Personally, I'm expecting something different than the last two years. I don't think Pittsburgh will get past the second, if they win this round. Fluery has been really off his game recently, if he performs badly, the Pens are done. The Red Wings? Maybe, they looked hot in the last game, especially Zetterberg.

I'm thinking that Chicago will take the West. Huet is doing really good in net, and their young team guarantees a lot of energy game in and game out. The Sharks are also a possibility, seeing how they were denied in the first round last year.

As for the East, I'm thinking either Philly or the Caps. The Caps are red hot, as always, with Ovie, Semin, Backstrom, Green and Varlamov. Philly has more depth than almost any team in the leauge, with forwards like Richards, Carter, and Gagne, and D-Men like Pronger and Coburn.

Either way, it's going to be a good one.

Okay I'm done.

Im pretty interested in the draft this year, I mean the top five players are just awsome. Truthfully Ill be happy when the whole Tyler Seguine vs Taylor Hall is over tho. They are both great players and it will be sweet seeing them play next season. I will probably tivo the draft so I can scant thru it

For those who don't already know Kovalchuk could be headed for the KHL http://www.russianhockeyfans.com/nhl/ska-offers-kovalchuk-14m-per-year-202.html

Change that "could" to a "will." Kovie's a money hog, as we all know. 14Million tax-free dollars to play in his home country? Bye bye Kovalchuk.

I have a bad feeling about the KHL and our Russian players.

Is he really? Didn't know that, glad to see him back, I guess. The biggest problem with the Wings is depth. They've got killer top lines (F: Zetterberg, Datsyuk, Franzen; D: Lidstrom, Rafalski) but everything beyond that is lacking. It's going to take some more wingers to fill out the empty spots.

well you are right, but also its time to just let go of some of the older guys. i dont blame them for giving it it one last shot last season but time to get rid of maltby and draper, although i think drapes has a year left on his contract. now they go an sign bertuzzi for 2 more years wft? i mean seriously. but looking at these salaries not sure what they can do right now, i mean they are getting a bargain with some of the young guys as it is.

Yeah, they've always been one of the teams to splurge on 3rd line checking forwards. Also, Rafalski is good, but 6mil good? I don't think so. I'm sure if they trade away a few high cost players to failing teams they could get some good prospects in return.

Damn Ty, sorry to see you go. I know i don't post much but its because my computer is broken otherwise I'd update the thread too. Kovalchuck and Islanders may be close to getting a deal done. Kovalchuk declined the kings (or as Tyler would have called them "queens") offer earlier.

Scratch the Isles Kovy deal. Apparently the Isles never offered up a contract. Devils Offered somewhere in the ballpark of 7 Years 60 million. Kings are out of it. Devils are still the favorites.
