I'm not anti-English, I'm sorry if I don't consider Emile Heskey or Robert Green in the same league as Messi. Terry and Ashley Cole have had personal problems, Ledley King is too injury prone, Glen Johnson can't defend, Gerrards had a very poor season for his standards, Gerrard and Lampard can't play together, there is no left mid option. Rooney is the only world class player in the squad.

Wrong. OK, England have been poor in our warmup games but we will be too much for the US. We have a manager who has got us playing football and we have stars like Rooney (he will get the Golden Boot this year), Gerrard (expect him to do well as he is now captain), Lampard, Terry, Lennon etc. You will give us a good game but I think we will win this and go far in the tourney. That bastard isn't playing again, if he has any sense Capello will play Joe Hart. Green will be Public Enemy No.1 in England. We should have beaten you easily, we had so many chances but just couldn't finish them. We did show what we can do with Gerrard's goal which was fantastic and showed how poor the US defence is. He was the only player who I would say had a good game for England. The US were resilient and gave us a good game like I said but Rooney would have torn them apart if he didn't have 3 Americans on him for 90 mins which is cheating IMO.

I'm not sure Brazil are as good as people say now. And Spain are a very good team but they always fuck it up at World Cup's. They did win Euro 2008 though. But you are not the England manager. Capello has managed the best players in the world and doesn't rate Michael Carrick! Why was he wrong to ask Scholes to come out of retirement? In my humble opinion, England need someone who can make that pass to open a defence. Sir Alex Ferguson is one of the Greatest managers of all time and thinks Scholes is still capable of playing for Man Utd, a much better side than England. Rooney has been playing up front and has flopped! My formation is the formation that Capello used in the qualifying and that seemed to go quite well. Heskey has actually done okay so far, but Crouch is more likely to score a goal.

About the '06 team. In 2006, England has an undisputed No.1 (David James), Rio Ferdinand was in the team, Gary Neville is better defensively than Glen Johnson, Beckham had more quality in one testicle than Aaron Lennon has in his whole body, Owen is better than Heskey so I don't seen where the 2010 side is better.

Capello's not to blame all the time, yes he screwed up in the first group match but he was right to bring in James and Milner later on in the tournament. There's only so much a manager can do if the players are not on form.

As for the players this will be their last world cup as first team players. In 2014, Lampard, Terry, Upson, Gerard etc will be around the age of 34, and James will be near 44. The only ones left will be Johnson, Milner, Rooney and Defoe from the first team today. That probably is no bad thing. New players like Dawson, Huddlestone, Walcott etc will be at their prime at the next World Cup, and while they probably aren't enough to win the World Cup, they have a much smaller ego than today's so called "Golden Generation".
