Just a quick question, how old do you need to be to buy Nicotine Gum and Nicotine patches?
From a local shop?

Thanks. (Y)!

I'm not too sure if you're allowed to get them over the counter as they contain nicotine which I think is a controlled drug.

Best thing to do is to go to your GP and ask him. He'll definitely be able to prescribe them to you and you'll be able to get them for free on the NHS (assuming you're under 16 / up to 19 and in full time education).

I really do not wanna tell my Doctor.
They will contact my parents who don't know.

In the UK, tobacco is controlled, not nicotine.

Patches, for some reason, carry an age restriction of 18 (and have done, even back when you could buy cigarettes at 16) but as far as I know, gum, lozenges and inhalers can be purchased OTC by anyone as young as 12.

I see you're also in England so, if you don't want to visit your doctor you can also visit an NHS walk-in centre and they can prescribe you with heavier stuff. There's some kind of antidepressant they prescribe specially for smokers which I've heard can be quite effective. It's been a while since I last tried to quit, maybe I should try it too.

[EDIT:] Oh, and I seriously doubt a GP would tell your parents though. Plus if you're over 16 they legally can't.
