I am really considering an Apple TV for my bedroom. there is no variation on these so lets not discuss that.

The hard part is the TV, what brand, type, size, etc.
I know a few things I need/want:
1080p
Widescreen
At least 1 HDMI
Not plasma - these don't do well in Colorado.
I prefer shiny black TVs without many curves or lines or other stuff. Just a big black shiny rectangle :P

I have some questions about other specs (You don't have to answer all of these):
"Dynamic Contrast Ratio"? is 3,000,000:1 okay?
3D?! Is this what I think it is and will it be of use with an Apple TV?
Down Firing speaker type? What does this mean and what are my options?

Now some really important questions:
Brand?
LED or LCD?

That's about it, please add other comments
Thanks! :)

ZzKingz,
Some of the better brands would be Samsung, Sony, and LG. I have all three and the Lg is my favorite.

LEDs usually have brighter colors and deeper blacks.

3,000,000:1 is good.

I'd probably just stick with a 2-D tv. 3-D tvs still need those glasses and 3-D movies.

Down firing speakers face down instead of at the viewer. Their sound quality usually isn't as good because of the speakers off-axis response, but it may not make a huge difference because tv speakers aren't really great anyway. If you really care about the sound, I would suggest to get a 2.1 or 5.1 audio system. Klipsch makes a nice 2.1 computer speaker system call the Promedia 2.1 that would work. It costs about $150. Some of the worsts things to by would be a home theater in a box system or (GASP!) Bose.

How long do you plan to keep this TV?

If it's for a while, I say go 3D. 3D is where things seem to be headed. Withing the next 5-10 years, I believe most movies and shows will be produced in 3D.

APPLE TV!!! YAY! :D *WAIT THOUGH!!! Updates for it will be coming soon due to GoogleTV*

Bands: I hear Samsung is good, same with Sony. :D
3-D tv, wont be worth it till more and more shows, movies etc start to be made into 3D.
