has anyone gotten help?

for the people who have gotten help for anoerexia, what hapened? was it scary? i may be gettting help soon... that's if my mom sees me lising more wight, which is bound to hapen, since ikeep cttin back on food intake... or at least she threatens to get me help.. who knows.. so i'm curiosu about your expeirences with help. if it worked.. etc.

I started to get help, and I was doing really really well, so they basically left me for other people who were apparently more "important". So my eating now is normal, but they did absolutely nothing to help my body image.

it didnt work for me. i went to a place and they set a target weight and you had to stay there until you reached it. as soon as i got out i went back to my normal eating habits. being there made me way more depressed as well

It sure seems like the only focus with recovery is returning to a healthy weight.. What these so-called "professionals" don't get is that returning to a healthy weight doesn't get rid of the mental aspect of the ED. No wonder it's common for people to relapse.

geez.. :( that sucks.. eating disorder is something mental.. like you said it makes no sense to let the people go after they've reached their goal weight. especially since they are probably unhappy with it.. Derek i'm so happy you've recovered from this on your own :) this is truely amazing.
