View Full Version : Caving in
Ummm...

Its been months since I last cut, but I've been caving in. 6 cuts. 3 on my right arm and 3 on my left. I look at them and realize that I'm falling back into this spiral. I keep telling myself that I'm done and I don't need to but, the urges continue. I don't know what's wrong with me anymore. A friend of mine keeps telling me that I need help, but I've been stubborn and said how I'm fine and just caved in once. Its been a week since I cut, but the damn urges. I don't know if I'll do it again. I keep telling myself not to, but I'm obviously not comprehending anymore.

Remember you don't have to cut. Your urges come from inside you. They're a part of you. So you, as the whole, are by definition, stronger than they are. Never give up. You can win this fight.

I know how hard it is but all you can do is keep resisting. There is no miracle cure to addictions. You need to fight them away yourself.
You are stronger than them.
Each time you resist, you've won. And each time you win, it will get easier to win the next time.
Trust me.
It's important to remember that the urges are not forcing you to cut. The urges don't mean that you need to cut to get rid of them. There are many ways to fight away the urges. Even for a little while. Find the ways that help you most and use them as much as you can. It's a very hard struggle but you have no choice but to fight, and once you win, because you will one day win, you will be happy.
You need to stop lying to your friend. They obviously care for you very much but if you keep lying you may push them away. You need friends to quit so keep them close.
Good luck and take care,
x

You need to keep resisting these urges, as the other have said the urges come from you.
If you really want to stop cutting you need to stay strong and keep on fighting them, its not easy I know, I've been there many times before. As Sarah said, each time you resist you are winning.
Stay strong

i know how you feel, i went through the same thing a while ago. just stay strong and remember that it isn't worth giving up. you stopped for months, so doing it again is just a set back. a relapse. everyone has their relapses every now and then. but if you resisted the urges for this long, there's nothing stopping you stopping for longer. it gets easier as you go on. the urges might still be there, but your will power increases as you learn to resist the urges. just keep going, and really really try not to give it, because you can do it. you have prooved that you can by stopping for a such a long time. that is PROOF that you can stop!!
and there's nothing wrong with you, dont worry, everyone falls back every now and then, so all you need to do is pick yourself back up again.
it seems like your friend is just trying to help you, so maybe you should take her advice and get help. you never know it might really help :) lying to her wont solve anything, but taking her advice can.
if you ever want to talk, just PM me, i'm here if you need me :)
hope i helped x
