I truly don't know whats wrong with me.
I'm not ugly, or anything like that, but I am overweight.

I'm about 5'7, close to 200 pounds, so not SUPER overweight.

Every time I meet a new girl I think is pretty, and would like to date, I usually freeze and just stand there like an idiot hiding behind my friends or whoever I'm with.

I'm a pretty funny guy, I always manage to make my friends laugh, so I can be make people laugh when their sad, I can be serious when someone needs advice or someone to talk to, but I don't know what my problem is.

So please, if anyone could help me out, it would be greatly appreciated.

I don't think you have a 'problem'. You're young Daniel, give it some time :] You are going to find that perfect girl. Don't try to rush into a relationship. It'll happen when it happens.

What is wrong with it? I am about 220 lbs and haven`t had one yet. High school relationships are overrated and never last. If you get one, kiss it goodbye when you go to college. You are fine. Trust me, it is stupid being hurt from a stupid social experiment. You will find someone later in life.

There's nothing wrong with being a little shy. It's perfectly normal to be nervous around someone you like/admire. I used to get that way, but I would walk up and introduce myself to them and just start a conversation and make a friend.

See I don't think high school relationships are pointless, but it's a cool if some would like to call it 'experiment' it can be pretty fun. I think if someone likes you it shouldn't matter if you're thin or over weight or whatever size you may be. Chemistry is not within looks, but personalities.

Don't be shy to talk because possibilities are endless don't put yourself down because there is hope and I think you will find someone that loves you. It maybe now or it could be later. If you ever need someone to talk to I'm always here. Shoot me a VM anytime.

I am 18, I am in 12th standard. I am 5'8" and 180 pounds. I never had a relationship. Big deal, it is nothing to fret upon. Lose some weight, go to Gym, learn some persuading conversation techniques. And you will get girls running into you in no time.

I'm the same age as you and no relationship. there's really no need to rush, you are still young (pfft my age), lots of people have no boyfriend or girlfriend.

You're 15 and never been in a relationship. Not trying to sound mean, but big deal. Once again, you're 15, it's not like you're going to die if you don't go out with someone tommorow. Just enjoy the single life, and don't worry about relationships yet. Most relationships at this age just end in complete crap anyways.

Sorry to break it to you, but that's just the truth. Don't worry about it, you'll be glad you didn't.

Dont worry, there are plenty of people who haven't been in a relationship. Im 18, yes 18, and I have never been in a relationship!!
I don't think any girls have ever liked me anyway.
15 is still very young, like many people have already said on here. Most people have their first relationships in the 16/17/18 age range, from what I've seen anyway.

Like you, i'm not sure what my problems is. I know i'm a little 'love shy' (i feel very uncomfortable around girls and struggle to have conversations with them). But, I am quite funny I suppose, i'm polite and not rude, give advice bla bla bla etc etc.
I keep saying to myself that maybe I should act like a dick, as girls seem to like these type of people. But, I'm not going to be like that, and I know that certainly a lot of girls DO NOT like the dicks and jerks.

Daniel, don't change your personality because you think your doing something wrong. You sound like a great guy. Maybe stop thinking about getting a girlfriend (I have recently stopped worrying about it) and eventually the right girl will come along. :)

Relationships aren't everything and being shy isn't something to be embarrassed about. Being only 15 I wouldn't worry too much about having a girlfriend even if your friends have one :) Eventually you'll find a girl that you don't find it hard to talk to and that you'll make me laugh :) So don't worry dude, don't rush yourself and everything will fall in place eventually :)

I'm 17 and only been in 2 relationships, not a big deal but I don't seem to have the problem of talking to girls. HOWEVER! This has only come about in the last year or so :) So no worries mate, you'll get there.

A crude analogy is a fishing one. As a fisher, you don't grab the fish and take a chunk out of them then and there. Instead, you use bait, you wait patiently, you don't fret over not catching a fish every day and you don't have your life disturbed by not catching a fish every time you go out fishing. Same thing applies here. You focus on your school work and when you get a bit older, you'll hopefully develop better social skills. As a little tid-bit, getting a girl to go out with you because of your looks isn't particularly that great of a relationship. I've had various girlfriends many of whom were quite attractive, and by no means am a stud, no rippling abs or large biceps, no fancy cars or clothing, etc... . Focus on your school work, do well in school and don't focus exclusively on the fact you're single and don't have washboard abs or whatever.

There are girls who like to be with you because of you and then there are plastic girls who love plastic boys.

Being a bachelor isn't all that bad, is it? I mean sure, there's a loneliness factor, and probably more so in me because I live in the boondocks and don't get out much. But I think that relationships at this young of an age never last, so why bother? I know if I got in a relationship right now it'd all go to hell in the end. Just wait a while, wait til it counts. I personally find the responsibilities and emotional ties of modern boyfriend/girlfriend relationships appalling. Do you really want to be tied to a girl with the only way out being as chaotic and painful as it is?

You are not overweight!!! You are definitely young and you have plenty of time. You don't have to find someone right away. If you want to lose weight, the best way i have found to do it (besides working out, which is no fun lol) is dancing, if you like dancing. I love dancing so its great for me. I have lost nine pounds and i started in May.

There really isn't anything wrong with you, just wait. Try to socialise more, talk to your friends about it. You'll be fine ;)

Sometimes, waiting for something to nibble is the best way. You're still young, 15 years old and already looking? Wow, I'm 14, I don't care about girls (or boys  XD) right now because it can go between you and studying. Socialize more too, because it will be useful for establishing connections, which will help you meet more people. Your dream girl will be out there somewhere, don't hurry or else you might never meet her.

This guy's pretty damn right, I'm 16 in a few days, 5ft 11, I'm pretty thin, 140lbs and a lot of that muscle, clear skin too and i'm a nice guy to people yet I've never had one either, so yes losing some weight would improve your chances, even if you didn't you'd still get a gf eventually

You're perfectly normal, don't worry about it. =] Plenty of people don't have boyfriends or girlfriends. I consider myself really lucky that I was able to find as sweet of a guy as I did because I've seen whats happened to my friends in their relationships and they always end up hurt. Just enjoy being single, you'll find a great girl eventually, it just takes time. Be patient but don't rush into dating just cause you "want a girlfriend." It would just be a meaningless fling that would only end up leaving you upset. Try to wait for the right one to come along, that's what I did and it was so worth it. (: While your friends/acquaintances/whatever are out there getting dumped out of pointless relationships, you'll be the mature one waiting for the girl that actually matters.

Let me be one of the many to say this. There is nothing wrong with you. It is normal in some -most- teens to freeze when approached by someone they find attractive. I am 13, and I cannot believe the many mistakes I've made with girls. Not sex or anything, but how much of an idiot I am. Most of the girls I date only "love" me because I am cute. They don't see my personality and my brightness, just my face and I hate that. What I suggest for you is to wait for someone to notice you and not just your face.

Like I said you have no problem but you are getting old enough where you should extend your social boundaries. Sometimes waiting isn't the best, and searching is a better way. Maybe when you begin to extend your boundaries (if you do) you will meet that special someone that just bonds with you. Just recently have I begun dating again to a special girl. She hasn't been like the others, constantly calling me and trying to talk, or cheating on me. She has been down to earth, fun to talk to, and private through the time we've known each other. I love her, and I actually feel it. Not like before. Nothing like before. And that is what you should find in someone as well. Don't misuse the word love, for that will make it lose it's meaning. Use it only when it should be properly used.

You have no problems Daniel, just be yourself and find someone that you truly love.

Don't stress. You have you're whole life for that stuff, just take it slow and go when you're ready.

If anyone says anything to you about not having had a girlfriend then ignore them. You'll do it when you're ready <3

Don't think about getting a girlfriend, if you appear natural then the girls will become naturally attracted to you. If you are funny, then that's a good advantage and makes it easier to interact with people, not just girls. Eventually you will build up relationships with girls and will feel confident asking them out
