All righty, so on iTunes I know there is a way to extract the songs from your iPod to your library, but obviously, I don't know how. Someone told me there is a program, but y'know, I don't know what it is. So VT, do you know? :D

If I'm not mistaken, doing that will erase anything on your iPod that is not on your computer.
If you have an iPod Touch, right click on it and select "Transfer Purchases." That should get everything you bought on the iPod, and I think transfer everything.
If you don't have a Touch, there are a few free programs that will copy everything over, but I can't recommend anything as I haven't had to use them.

Nope, it only tranfers music brought through iTunes on the iPod.

http://www.ephpod.com/ that should work for you.

I warn you btw, i tried this when i got my iPod touch a few months back, and tried to get some songs onto there from my old iPod. There are few online programmes that will do as you ask. Most are trials and will only allow you to transfer 5 and thats it.

Just... go get them? The song files are all on the iPod like any other mass storage device, and are removable just as easily.

Yeah, this one lets you do up to a hundred. But I found a way around it, lol. I just went to manual and chose the ones I want.

I don't think that'll work because Apple makes it where they have some kind of protection on the mp3 file, such as if you try to import it to, say, WMM, it won't let you.

I don't know if what you say is true with regard to importing the file into other music programs (I doubt it), but I know that I have manually removed music files from an iPod and successfuly re-added them to iTunes and then on to other iPods, before.

Ah well, I wouldn't know how to do that, anyway, haha.

As I recall all the music is in a hidden folder on the iPod called IPOD_CONTROL or something like that. All the files have nonsensical names though; to get what I wanted out of it I had to manually find a file I was looking for by getting Windows to show the album info, check when I added it, and use that to find the rest of the album tracks.
It's a bit of a pain, but it works.
