I'm 5'8.5" and 156(+-5)lbs, now I know this isn't too overweight but I do look slightly fat (I hide it completely when I have clothes on). And I've measured the exact calories in all the foods I eat and according to some tools and guidelines I'm taking in more than 500 calories less than I use each day... And I gain maybe a pound every 1-2 weeks. All I can think is what the f**k?

I don't miscount usage or anything. Is it something that would be easily fixed (keeping in mind I bike 4+ miles each day to get back and forth from school, and maybe once or twice a week run a few miles) or am I going to be a little overweight forever?

You could also have an underactive thyroid gland

If you're not still growing, then maybe it could be muscle? Depending on how many calories you're eating, it could also be that your body thinks it's starving, so it's storing what little you give it. How many calories are you eating?

500 is way too little, the average male SHOULD have around 2000 a day, plus, only one type of excersize wont work, you have to increase your metabolism as a whole by working out different parts of your body.

Oh and by the way, drinking water, a lot of water, is a great way to aid losing weight.

This caught my attention because I had some bloodwork done for something else(maybe a year ago) and my T4 was elevated above normal range, not by far but it was bold on the results sheet and mentioned, although I've never heard anything else about it...

So if anything I'd think it's overactive. Good thinking though!

I think there's been a misunderstanding. I take in 500 calories less than I use each day.

Again, drinks like soda won't help, water is proven to help metabolize body fat.

you may have a slow metabolism, meaning your body stores fats for much longer. with your exercising, weights have been seen to have better effect on weight loss.
