Well, some locals decided that last Fri-Sun (yesterday) was going to be WHEE. They got it all set up, managed to get the city to sign a permit allowing them to allow the legal script smokers to smoke publicly.
The sheriff's department wasn't far away, just outside the gate waiting for something to happen.
Me being my good drug hating self even went. I felt it was well organized and wasn't too bad. It was more of a festival celebrating products of hemp (like soap, shampoo, necklaces, etc) than it was about smoking marijuana; however, it was very easy to become contact high.
People were allowed to spend the night for $10, which I did not do.
No alcohol was allowed. Anyone, any age, could attend. Admission was $5 every day, except Sunday was Free.
Like I said, I thought it was OK; however, one guy got robbed of over $20,000 worth of marijuana related supplies...he was a vendor.
I completely disagree with advocates that say marijuana is safe to consume. I agree it should be OK to consume whenever you NEED it (i.e. chemo, chronic pain, etc)...but that system has become far too abused.
