I’m digging in the mine of life,
The object of my strife,
May or not be found,
Gold buried in the ground.

I dig, driven by false leads,
False hope, hoping to fill my needs
With the gold, sparkling, shining,
The object of my mining.

I find the gold, bright as can be
Maybe now I can live most happily,
With riches galore,
But wait: there’s something more.

I look into the dirt, past the gold,
A diamond! I pick it up to hold.
But it crumbles, and turns to dust,
Poisonous, escape is a must.

I look up the shaft,
A ladder! My life raft
But a boulder blocks my way,
I must move it or I must stay

Move it or stay? I contemplate
I can’t decide, what will be my fate?
If I move the rock, the whole may fall,
If I don’t, no way to get up that wall.

I’m in too deep,
Inside, I weep,
Life's gold is what I chase!
But I am looking in the wrong place.

And now,
As this "gold" poisons me,
I can’t get out, because I’m afraid
To take the Risk.
