I'm making a stretch to eat healthier, from what I've heard, salad's are supposudly very good, but every time I try salad like anywhere, without meat in it, its terrible, it tastes like salty leaves, are there are really good salads anyone knows of?

I would go with a nice green salad with a light vinegrette, if you want, cubes of meat. The meat however should be cooked pork or chicken with no specific seasoning. You want to avoid blackened chicken and any type of bacon etc. because that just defeats the purpose also try to avoid dressing that are fight in fat because most of them are. If you eat with a fork, I suggest dipping your fork in your dressing and then stabbing up some salad so you minimize your dressing consumption but still get the taste you're after.
Good luck.

Also, don't get salads from McDonald, Burgerking, so on so forth. They're not healthy.
Your best bet, is to get veggies, and make your own, it's very simple and pretty quick.

A nice simple garden salad always makes me happy. With a nice dressing.
Also any salad and google "salad dressings" and you might find a nice one that you will like ^_^
I'd like to add: mcdonalds should NOT be allowed to sell salads it's wrong -.- lol

Salad is good for you, but I don't eat it.
A simple salad, with a good dressing is all you need. Don't have to be nothing fancy.

A lot depends on the quality of the dressing. I love ceasar salad made with crisp romaine lettuce. In France if you order a salad for lunch at a cafe you get a huge, filling and generally delicious meal.

Most salads are vile IMO.
I don't mind lettuce and cucumbers and stuff on their own though. It just grosses me out when there's all this other crap that goes on them. =/
You can still eat healthily without freaking salads.

I'm not a fan of lettuce without dressing, on a burger, in a tortilla wrap, etc... . For salads, there are some easy ones I like, such as pre-bottled dressing, mainly Renee's raspberry dressing and mediterranian Greek dressing. They are not the creamy stuff like other dressings are, they're vinagrettes but have a lot of taste and the raspberry one has little raspberry bits so it's a very sweet dressing without needing a lot of it.
Another one is buying canned or fresh mandarin oranges and cutting small pieces into the salad, some lime/lemon zest and some almond flakes. I prefer canned simply because it's the right portion size for about 3 people, mix in some oil, red-wine vinegar, bit of ground black pepper and it's very nice. You have the moist soft mandarin orange slices as well as the vinagrette. It's usually not as potent as the raspberry one but it's nice especially when fresh. I sometimes add in some basil and a bit of oregano or parsley flakes fresh from the garden for a stronger taste with everything else.
Lastly is caesar dressing but my father has a home-made recipe using no eggs so it too is like a vinegrette and not a creamy dressing. I find it amazing with fresh lemon juice in the recipe and lots of garlic with grated parmesian cheese on top. It has a very strong taste so you will not taste any saltiness of the salad. Recipe is kind of estimated on how much of each ingredient as it depends how spicy and garlicy you want it. It has anchovy paste, normal mustard (not dijon), fresh lemon (or bottled), hot sauce, garlic, oil, Worcestershire sauce, bit of salt and ground black pepper, and very very little red-wine vinegar (or none). It is an amazing dressing, play it by ear for how much garlic and spicyness you want in it. On top, grated parmessian cheese and maybe some sliced olives.
You can also put lettuce into burgers and tortilla wraps if you want.

I like salad before a meal when I am REALLY hungry, gives me the allusion I am eating, without filling me up. I like just about anything. Oh, just remembered the best salad of my life, at the Mount Washington Hotel in Brenton Woods, NH, they had this salad with some fruit in it, and some veges, and a home made fruit dressing, I could eat that all day! YUM! :)
